ALMOST 500 artists have attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the world's biggest drawing class,
with a twist - the models are all totally nude.

The event, organised by West End's Art Shed, fell short of the record 870 despite being the second attempt in six months.
But organiser Manuel Petavrakis said they only lost on a technicality

"The world record committee won't include life drawing as a category only drawing as a whole, which is where the 870 comes from," he said. "This is still a terrific event and still a big turnout so we'll be applying to have the award in our own right with a new category."

Mr Petavrakis said the world record was not the only benefit of the event. "We love bringing all these art groups, which wouldn't normally see each other, together," he said.
"We still get people coming up and saying that the last one was a life changing event, it's a lot of fun." One artist in the crowd said she loved life drawing.
"It really loosens you up and teaches you which lines to keep and to stop fretting in all of your artwork," she said.
"Art can be a constant battle but life drawing really helps you trust your judgement.
"The nudity doesn't really factor in at all once you get into it."
